Candidate Logan Ginavan sitting on KU campus

Meet Logan

Hello! My name is Logan Ginavan and I'm running for Kansas House District 46. I have lived in Douglas County my entire life and am happy to call Lawrence my home. After graduating from Lawrence High in 2019, I continued on to KU, where I am currently working on finishing my Bachelor's degree in Political Science. In addition to working on my degree, I am also currently interning at the Kansas House of Representatives.

More About Me

As a lifelong resident of Lawrence, I possess a deep understanding of the issues that affect our community and our state. Growing up here has afforded me insights into the unique challenges and opportunities that face Lawrence and its residents. This firsthand experience has instilled in me a deep commitment to serving my community and advocating for the needs of its diverse population.

In addition to my roots in Lawrence, I am currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Political Science. This academic background has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of political systems, policy analysis, and the dynamics of governance. I am eager to apply this knowledge and my passion for public service to effectively represent the interests of District 46 in the Kansas State House of Representatives.

My passion for serving in this role stems from a simple yet powerful belief in the potential for positive change. I am driven by the vision of what our city and our state could become with compassionate and effective leadership. When I envision the future, I see a world where every individual is treated with dignity and respect, where diversity is celebrated, and where opportunities are accessible to all.

As I reflect on my aspirations, I am motivated by the desire to create a better tomorrow not only for myself but for future generations. I want my future children to grow up in a world that surpasses the one I experienced—one that is more just, equitable, and prosperous. Moreover, I aspire to build a legacy where subsequent generations can thrive in an environment characterized by fairness, inclusivity, and mutual respect.

If elected to serve as your representative in the Kansas State House, I would be committed to pursuing policies and initiatives that address the pressing needs of our community. My priorities reflect my dedication to fostering a more compassionate and equitable society for all residents of District 46 and beyond. Some of these policies are:

Increasing Mental Health Services: I believe access to mental health care is a fundamental human right. As such, my first priority will be to advocate for increased funding and resources for mental health services across Kansas.

Legalization of Marijuana: I support the legalization of marijuana for both medicinal and recreational purposes. Legalization not only has the potential to generate significant revenue for our state but also offers an opportunity to regulate and control the distribution of cannabis products, thereby promoting public safety and reducing unnecessary incarceration.

Addressing Houselessness: The issue of houselessness is a complex issue that demands compassionate and effective solutions. I am committed to working collaboratively with local organizations, government agencies, and community stakeholders to develop and implement sensible strategies to address homelessness.

Education Reform: Our children deserve access to high-quality education that prepares them for success in an increasingly complex and competitive world. I will prioritize education reform efforts aimed at improving school funding, reducing class sizes, and supporting educators.

While my primary focus has been on pursuing my education and preparing for public service, I deeply value the experiences and perspectives gained from living and being a part of our community. As a lifelong resident of Lawrence and a dedicated student, I have developed a profound appreciation for the unique challenges and opportunities facing our city and its residents. My immersion in the fabric of our community has reinforced my commitment to advocating for policies and initiatives that promote the well-being and prosperity of all individuals.

In conclusion, I want to emphasize that this campaign is not about dwelling on the past or even solely addressing the issues of the present. It's about looking forward to the future and taking proactive steps to shape a better tomorrow for generations to come. We cannot afford to stand idly by while pressing challenges such as the environment, mounting debt, and worsening education burden our children and future generations.

As we move forward, let us remain steadfast in our commitment to building a brighter, more prosperous future for all. Together, we can tackle the challenges that lie ahead with optimism, innovation, and a shared sense of purpose. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve as your representative and pledge to work tirelessly on behalf of all residents of Lawrence, and beyond.

If you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you'd like to share, I encourage you to reach out. Together, let's build a future that we can all be proud of.
